Understand and Use Visualization to Achieve the Results You Want

The process is simple.  In fact, so simple that most people overlook or assume there is no value in the process.

 

Your thoughts drive your beliefs, your beliefs drive your actions, and your actions drive your results.

The writing, teaching and sharing of this goes way back.  One of my favorite classics is “As A Man Thinketh” by James Allen; my second favorite on the topic is “The Strangest Secret” by Earl Nightingale.  Napoleon Hill wrote more than one book that included this principle.  Additionally, current day authors, speakers and teachers such as John O’Sullivan, Remez Sasson, Brian Tracy, and David Neagle continue to help people harness visualization to achieve goals, enhance results, and find success as they define it.

For my clients I developed a few simple yet very powerful activities to help them quickly harness the power of visualization to achieve both short term and long term goals.  I do recommend all my clients study and learn more from the “masters” of this field.

Some clients tell me this is just too “out there” for them.  I understand; however, my reply is just practice the activities. Set aside time each day for affirmations and visualization for 3 weeks. At the end of that time, if you decide the process is not for you, then stop doing it.

The fact is many of you already practice visualization on a daily basis.  The problem is most practice negative visualization.  If you know how to worry, you know how to visualize.   Worry is negative visualization.

Getting started on positive visualization is important.
  Visualization allows you to create a blueprint, a practice routine. It provides you with the experiences of attaining goals.

Here is how to get started.  Write down at least 15 things for which you are thankful.  Be specific.  You may wish to add at least one thing to the list each day.  Look at your calendar and write down the day of the week and the date you will start your new job.   Now, add the specific information about your job:  Monday, December XX, 20XX I am the new Vice President of Southwest Operations at a Fortune 500 company earning 18% over my prior salary.  

Create a list of affirmations that support your goals, and the person you want to be.   Be sure your affirmations are stated in the present tense, support your goals and include vivid details and specific emotions.  Schedule a daily appointment with yourself to review your affirmations and visualize your next job.

Are you ready to convert your negative visualization (your worry) and better leverage it for your job search?  Your thoughts drive your beliefs, your beliefs drive your actions, and your actions drive your results.  Use this simple process, do it daily and it will help you harness the power of your thoughts and achieve the results you want in your job search – to land the job you want and achieve your goals in life.
